9am morning bird report, it's 38 degrees out and the birds are singing:
It's a good thing we got going relatively early because this was a looong day for us. We spent most of the day driving west on rt 40, then we crossed the Mississippi, and spent a few more hours also driving west on rt 40.
We hit our first big traffic jam of the trip, outside of Nashville. We were completely stopped for a bit and ended up chatting with the nice woman in the minivan next to us. She told us her daughter loves Teslas and wants to get one, we said we're taking ours cross country, and she said her father is a truck driver and is currently in a snowstorm in Kansas, so don't take that route west.
Total time driving: 9.5 hours
Total distance: 560 miles
Time spent stopped/charging 2.5 hours (we charged up for next mornings drive already)
Total cost of charging: $22
Best thing Vanessa saw today: she spotted the first spring flower poking up through the grass
